Bloomspoon is a speciality baking company in Sydney that manufacture and supply premium quality friands for cafes and hotels across Australia’s East Coast. All we bake at Bloomspoon is friands, and we do so with skill and passion. Each day our experienced bakers carefully mix the finest quality natural products and then bake them using a unique and specialised process.

The word "Bloom" is the golden baked colour given to each friand by the process of cooking the mix at initial high heats and then reducing the temperature when the egg leavening has had its maximum effect.

Friands originated in the best pastry shops in Paris. Originally called financiers they are a popular little ‘cake’ common as a snack served in the morning and afternoon with tea or coffee.

You will know the difference when you taste a Bloomspoon friand. The golden brown exterior and light interior is achieved by this traditional baking method with each friand cooked in its own ‘conventional’ baking mould in ovens that have their temperature precisely controlled in a multi stage variable heat process.
